In the interest of fair play, feel free to check out some of the most recent mock drafts from some other reputable sites from around the web.
BA’s draft guru, Jim Callis, has had Mark Appel going number one for quite some time now, and he isn’t letting up in his final mock draft. Other highlights include Byron Buxton to the Twins, Carlos Correa to the Padres, Andrew Heaney to the Athletics, Lucas Giolito to the Blue Jays, D.J. Davis to the Braves and Marcus Stroman to the Red Sox.
Chris Crawford’s mock draft is similar to Callis’, with a few exceptions. He has Correa going to the Orioles, Kyle Zimmer to the Padres, Lance McCullers to the Cardinals and Joey Gallo to the Yankees.
Jonathan Mayo also has the Astros going with Appel with the first pick. Like most others, he has Mike Zunino going third to the Mariners, Andrew Heaney going to the Marlins, Chris Stratton to the White Sox, and Deven Marrero to the Nationals.
Scanning through all of the most recent mocks, it’s clear that a few picks seem set in stone. Albert Almora seems all but destined to end up in Wrigley Field, Courtney Hawkins in Colorado and Gavin Cecchini in the National League’s New York.
Stay tuned for our final mock draft, set to go live in just a few hours.
