Romero’s Season Takes One Last Calamitous Turn

It’s hard to deny the talent that is Seth Romero.

A mid-90s fastball. Impressive breaking ball. Developing changeup. Bulldog tenacity. All of these traits helped him to become one of the top prospects in the 2017 draft.

Sadly, his season has again been cut short, this time for good. Romero was kicked off the Houston baseball team yesterday, reportedly for fighting with a teammate before batting practice. This comes on the heels of an earlier suspension, that one for a failed drug test.

If reports of the fight are true, it would be Romero’s third run-in in two seasons with the Cougars.

Only time will tell whether this will impact Romero’s draft status.
