Corey Seager, 3B, Northwest Cabarrus HS (NC)

Class: HS Senior
Hometown: Kannapolis, North Carolina
Height/Weight: 6-4/190
Born: April 27, 1994

Seager is the younger brother of Kyle Seager, who is in the midst of a breakout season with the Seattle Mariners. Like his older brother, Corey, has the perfect combination of polish and impressive raw talent.

At the plate is where he’s most talented. His power and hitting ability both stand out as plus tools, but it’s his power that is most intriguing to teams, one of whom will likely pluck him in the first, supplemental-first or second round.

He has decent speed, but that will likely wane as he continues to fill out his 6-4, 190 pound frame.

Defensively, he’s no slouch, but he’s still growing and will likely have to make the move from his natural position (shortstop) to third base, just like his brother. He played third base on the showcase circuit last summer and proved to be an above-average defender, making several highlight worthy plays.

Like Kyle, who went to North Carolina, Corey is also ticketed for a major college power, South Carolina.
